The short version. Trovee helps you find garage sales and second-hand items near you, and talk to the people selling them. Trovee is not part of the sale itself — we don't handle money, we don't check the items, and we don't vet the people. Meeting a stranger to buy something is your decision and your risk. Be sensible, and read section 10.
By creating an account or using Trovee you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Trovee. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to enter a binding agreement.
Trovee is a listing and discovery service. Members post garage, yard, estate and moving sales, and individual items for sale. Other members browse them and arrange to meet.
Trovee is not a party to any sale. We do not sell anything, do not take payment between members, do not hold funds, do not inspect or verify any item, and do not screen, background-check or vouch for any member. Any agreement you reach is between you and the other person, and any money changes hands directly between you, away from Trovee.
Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and use one account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.
Trovee is a paid subscription, offered weekly and yearly. New subscribers get a free trial of one week.
Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe, and may change with notice.
There is no tolerance on Trovee for objectionable content or for abusive members.
Content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, discriminatory, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights is prohibited anywhere on Trovee — in listings, photos, messages, reviews, display names and profiles.
Accounts that post such content, or that harass, threaten or abuse other members, may be suspended or removed without notice and without refund.
We screen text automatically and we act on reports. Neither is perfect, so please report anything you see that breaks this rule.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give Trovee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute it within the service so it can be shown to other members. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or for the report records described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you post: that you have the right to post it, that it is accurate, and that selling the item is legal where you are.
Do not list: weapons, ammunition or explosives; drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol or tobacco; prescription medicines; live animals; recalled, stolen or counterfeit goods; hazardous materials; human remains or body parts; anything whose sale requires a licence you do not hold; and anything else illegal to sell where you are.
Every listing, profile and conversation has a Report option, and you can block any member from the conversation menu or their profile. Blocking stops them messaging you, and is reversible from the same place.
We review reports and act on them within 24 hours. We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and refuse service to anyone who breaks these terms. Where we can, we will tell you why.
Messages are for arranging sales. No harassment, no spam, no chain messages, no advertising unrelated to a listing, and no attempts to move someone off Trovee to defraud them. Never send payment before you have seen an item in person.
Trovee brings people together offline. We do not supervise, attend, insure or take responsibility for any meeting or transaction between members.
You meet other members at your own risk. Trovee does not verify anyone's identity, does not check anyone's history, and cannot know whether a person or a place is safe.
Please: meet in daylight, bring someone with you, meet in a public place where you can, tell somebody where you are going, and trust your instincts. Safety guidance is in the app under Settings → Safety tips and on every sale listing.
Publishing a garage, yard, estate or moving sale makes that address public for the duration of the sale — that is how buyers find you. Do not publish an address you are not willing to make public. Item listings in Marketplace show only an approximate area, never a street address.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. It is permanent and takes effect immediately. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is removed and what is kept.
Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription — cancel that separately in your Apple ID settings.
You may stop using Trovee at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop operating the service.
Trovee is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that members are who they say they are, that items are as described, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trovee is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service — including anything that happens during or as a result of a meeting or transaction between members. Our total liability to you will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trovee and its operators from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with other members.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use Trovee after a change means you accept the updated terms.
